The route begins and finishes at the Morriston Playing Field running track in Elgin. Here you will line up to start on the river path to the side of the playing field. The route takes you onto Brumley Brae and out of Elgin before descending onto the flat and fast country roads towards Burghead at Mile 8.

You will continue along the coastal road passing Cummingston, Hopeman and Covesea before running through the beautiful beach town of Lossiemouth at mile 15. You will be running alongside the harbour and seafront, and through the big Cheer Section at the famous Lossie Bridge at East Beach. Here is a perfect place for your family and friends to spectate and support you, before coming to the finish line to see you in.

Once you leave Lossiemouth, you'll be running on the road through Oakenhead with the forest on your left (mile 17-19), all the way down towards the A96 before cutting right onto the cycle path at Mile 23. Once you hit Cooper Park, you'll only have a mile to go! You will be guided by marshals, signs and painted arrows onto the correct path all the way back through to Morriston where there is one victory lap of the track to complete your marathon!
